Bermuda Day is a typical Caribbean tradition normally celebrated on the 24th May. It was formerly known as the Empire Day and was held earlier mainly to celebrate the birthday of Queen Victoria. Nowadays, Bermuda Day is a celebration of the first day of summer on the islands and the day that Bermuda shorts are worn as the National attire.
Gosling’s Rum wants to bring this original tradition to Australia by encouraging Australians to wear Bermuda shorts from 21st to 27th May. As Australia has not had much of a summer in 2012, we thought it would be fun to defy the weather and celebrate the National Holiday alongside the Bermudians.
Bermuda Day is proudly sponsored by Gosling’s Black Seal Rum.
